As with any other overseas property investments, there are potential risks and unsavoury practices for the unwary. Investing in real estate in Brazil is no exception.
However, while buying investment properties or even a private Brazil home can seem a daunting prospect for many people, the process need not present any real problems so long as common sense and caution is observed.
The acquisition of a real estate propery in Brazil is a relatively straightfoward process. If you speak Portuguese or you are a Brazilian, then your best source of information and guide for finding the best Brasil real estate property agent will always be 'personal recommendations'.
If you don't speak Portuguese, it is advisable to enlist the services of an established Brazil real estate agent or a reputable English-
speaking international real estate agent. It is best to identify one or two before your Brazil travel northeast. That way you can do most of your research at home and use your time more productively when you visit Brazil.
Even so, you will still need to keep your wits about you and
get yourself fully informed. Remember at all times that property developers have one ultimate goal in mind; that is
to sell their development quickly and at the best price they
