Having decided that you want to be slap bang in the middle of nature, surrounded by the Amazon - the largest, densest rainforest in the world; where your early morning alarm call is the cry of macaws right outside your window, you are now on a mission for a life-changing jungle tour. So, what can you expect?
All excursions are accompanied by experienced specialized jungle guides, who will usually be bilingual, with a passion for nature and will be well versed in the locality's history and culture.

Regardless of where they are located, lodge tours will all follow a similar pattern of activities on trips. Eearly mornings are usually favoured for nature walks, well before the heat start to take effect. These morning treks are magical moments for spotting all kinds of wildlife such as sloths, anteaters, monkeys, toucans and macaws. You will also witness some of the most diverse fauna and flora than you will ever see in any other jungle anywhere.
After lunch, there are usually excursions of some kind such as fishing for piranahs, or a trip to the spectacular 'meeting of the waters', near Manus. This is where the dark waters of the Rio Negro river and those of the Amazon's Solimões, collide most dramatically into each other.
Depending on your lodge location, you may well get to experience and see many other wonderful things on your jungle tour adventure such as feeding dolphins or observing pink dolphins, bird watching and many other jungle adventures.
There is no slacking off after dinner either! You can experience the thrill of a boat expedition to hunt for Amozonian caiman - jacaré, with your guides using just the basics of powerful spot lights. Spotlights stop the reptiles dead in their tracks, making it possible for some of the juveniles to be temporarily removed from the water and giving you a chance to touch them.
